Author Guidelines

The Editorial Board of the Journal of Governance, Economics, and International Affairs (JGEIA) invites authors to submit manuscripts for publication. All submitted materials are first assessed by the editor for compliance with the aims and scope of the journal. Those deemed suitable are sent for double-blind peer review, after which a decision on acceptance or rejection is made.

1. Manuscript Structure

Title Page (submitted separately from the anonymized manuscript)

• MRNTI code — top left corner of the page
• Article Title — no more than 20 words; provided in Kazakh, Russian, and English
• Author Information: full name; academic degree and title; position and place of work; postal address of the organization; ORCID of each author; email address of each author. Provided in three languages.
• Indication of the corresponding author

Abstract
150–300 words. Should briefly state the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions of the study. Provided in Kazakh, Russian, and English.

Keywords
5–7 words or short phrases. Provided in Kazakh, Russian, and English.

JEL Codes
Relevant JEL classification codes must be provided.

Introduction
General topic, objectives, theoretical and practical significance, key concepts and unresolved problems (at least 200 words).

Literature Review / Theoretical Framework
Covers fundamental and current works on the topic (at least 10 sources), their analysis in terms of scientific contribution, and the gaps that this work fills (at least 150 words). Excessive self-citation is not permitted.

Materials and Methods
This section should provide sufficient detail to allow replication of the study. Authors should clearly describe:

• the research design and approach (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods);
• the data sources, databases, or empirical materials used;
• the sampling strategy and criteria for selection of cases, respondents, or documents;
• data collection procedures (surveys, interviews, document analysis, statistical databases, etc.);
• data processing and analytical techniques (thematic analysis, regression analysis, content analysis, comparative analysis, etc.);
• any software or tools used for data analysis;
• ethical considerations related to data collection (where applicable).

Results and Discussion
Analysis and interpretation of the results obtained.

Conclusion
Summary of results, their significance, practical recommendations, and directions for future research.

Footnotes and Acknowledgements
Footnotes are used only for additional explanations, numbered sequentially, and placed at the bottom of the page. Acknowledgements are placed before the reference list. Funding sources (if any) are indicated.

Authors' Contributions
At the end of the manuscript, each author's specific contribution must be clearly stated using the following categories where applicable:

• Conceptualization — formulation of research goals and objectives
• Methodology — development of research design and methods
• Data Collection — gathering empirical materials, conducting surveys or interviews
• Data Analysis — processing and statistical/qualitative analysis of data
• Interpretation — interpretation of results and findings
• Writing — Original Draft — preparation of the initial manuscript
• Writing — Review & Editing — critical revision and editing of the manuscript
• Visualization — preparation of figures, tables, and graphics
• Supervision — oversight of the research process
• Funding Acquisition — obtaining financial support for the research

Reference List
Formatted according to APA 7th edition style. At least 50% of sources must have been published in the last 5 years. References to unpublished works are not permitted. Sources in Cyrillic script must be transliterated. For transliteration, please use the online tool available at: https://translit.net (select the BSI or ALA-LC standard). After transliterating Kazakh-language sources, authors must manually correct any characters specific to the Kazakh alphabet.

2. Formatting Requirements

• File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
• Font: Times New Roman, 14pt (abstract, keywords, references — 12pt; table text — 10–12pt)
• Line spacing: single
• Alignment: justified
• Paragraph indent: 0.8 cm
• Margins: top and bottom — 2 cm, left and right — 2 cm
• In-text citations: APA 7 style (author–year): (Mukasheva, 2020); (Greene, 2015, p. 45); (Ibraeva et al., 2021); (Bevan et al., 2016)
• Tables and figures: numbered sequentially; table titles above the table, figure captions below the figure; image resolution minimum 300 dpi; tables must be in editable format
• Anonymization: the manuscript must be fully anonymized for double-blind review (no author names, acknowledgements, or self-identifying citations in the main text)

3. Submission Process

Manuscripts are submitted exclusively through the journal's online submission system at: [website URL] https://jgeia.org/, accompanied by a cover letter confirming the originality of the work, exclusive submission to this journal, and the absence of conflicts of interest.
